About the Marquee

The Marquee opened as a neighborhood cinema in 1951 and showed its last film in 2016. Three years later it opened its doors to us on Sunday mornings, red seats and all.

The old projection booth and two storage rooms are becoming a new kids wing by spring. Until then the kids meet in the former lobby, which still has the popcorn machine. It works.

Getting here

  • Free parking in the lot behind the building

  • The red line stops at Potomac station, a three minute walk

  • Step-free entrance and reserved seating in the front row
